545 West 25Th Street, New York, Ny 10001
Part of a small, ambitious team, I assist curators and artists in the realization of exhibitions and related programming. I coordinate, develop, implement, and manage all aspects of FLAG’s programs, from facilitating loans, coordinating insurance, and exhibition logistics, including but not limited to installation/deinstallation, production, transportation, and registrar duties. Coordinating the production of exhibition catalogues, ads, and institutional materials, with regards to design, content, marketing, and distribution, I am also responsible for FLAG’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and communications.
  • Art In General
    Assistant Curator
Art In General Sep 2013 - Apr 2014
79 Walker Street, New York, Ny 10013
Part of a two member visual arts curatorial team, I worked closely with Art in General's Curator to coordinate, develop, implement, and manage of all aspects of Art in General's program. I programmed Art in General's Musée Miniscule and managed all of Art in General's public programs and conferences. Independent projects included developing and curating exhibitions, such as a yearlong commission with The Still House Group, and an ongoing curatorial exchange with The Gardens, Vilnius, Lithuania. Additional responsibilities included researching and writing for catalogues, gallery guides, and grant narratives; creating checklists, floor plans, and exhibition-related materials; managing exhibition budgets, calendars, and schedules; coordinating and overseeing inbound and outbound artists in residence; and leading exhibition tours for Board members, university students, and patrons. I worked as Art in General's Interim Communications Manager, handling all press outreach for exhibitions, public programs, and fundraising events, and oversaw all institutional social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr).
  • Art In General
    Curatorial Assistant
Art In General Aug 2011 - Sep 2013
79 Walker Street, New York, Ny 10013
Responsibilities included organizing the daily operations of the gallery, the presentation of gallery and public spaces, as well as overseeing exhibitions and reception. I manage Art in General's curatorial fellows, the curatorial internship program - responsible for hiring, scheduling, and project management. I work closely with Art in General's Executive Director, Curator, and artists to realize exhibitions with responsibilities including research, production, organizing loans, registrarial work, exhibition design, installation, as well as updating artist files and organizing opening receptions and fundraising events. I curate Art in General's Musée Miniscule, a commissioning program primarily focussed on New York-based emerging artists. I handle all press outreach for exhibitions, public programs, and fundraising events, in addition to overseeing, maintaining, and contributing new content to all of Art in General's social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr). I help coordinate and manage all of Art in General's public programs and conferences, working closely with the development staff to formulate, organize, and execute all fundraising and cultivation events.
  • Art In General
    Curatorial Fellow
Art In General Sep 2010 - May 2011
Responsibilities within the organization included artists' assistant, curatorial research, and exhibitions production. I implemented loan forms, condition reports and return forms in addition to registrarial responsibilities such as unpacking, photographing and handling. I coordinated press packets, press releases and updated artist files. I worked alongside artists and designers-in-residence to create and produce limited editions and publications specific to Art in General's New Commissions Program. I facilitated, produced and marketed William Pope L.'s limited edition A Philosophical Solution, 2011. In addition, I organized, staffed, and ran many of AIG's public programs, receptions, and board events as well as represented Art in General at art fairs including PULSE, Untitled, and The Armory Show, as well as at annual fall and spring benefits, fundraisers, and off-site events.
  • Art In General
    Exhibitions Assistant
Art In General Sep 2009 - May 2010
Assisted in the daily maintenance of gallery spaces, worked reception and aided the gallery manager with research and events. I worked directly with curators and artists to prepare spaces for the exhibitions, which included painting, lighting and construction, the production of artwork and the planning and staffing of opening and closing receptions. The position allowed for access to storage and filing systems, which over the course of 2010 and 2011 were completely reworked (sorted and shredded), redistricted and inventoried. In that AIG is not a collecting institution, the back catalogue of artwork was photographed, assessed and inventoried; a formal system was established for the return, donate and facilitate at auction the sale of artwork.
