I manage a team of research professionals in the the Ecosystem and Climate Science team at TRCA, which supports research and technical analysis for Aquatic (Water Resource System), Terrestrial (Natural Heritage System), Crossing/Connectivity (Road Ecology), and Climate Adaptation initiatives across the Greater Toronto Area. These programs inform planning development processes, such as Watershed Planning, Settlement Area Boundary Expansion, Municipal Comprehensive Reviews, as well as informing restoration initiatives, climate vulnerability analysis, climate adaptation programs, and many more TRCA programs and initiatives. I'm very interested in the management of ecological systems and allocate my time towards finding innovative solutions for proponents using strategic planning initiatives and evaluating the impact or risk of strategies on the ecological processes that govern ecosystem health. I have 15+ years experience in the environmental sector, specifically in environmental planning, environmental and climate policy, sustainability, spatial analysis, aquatic ecology, terrestrial ecology, landscape ecology, climate adaptation, fisheries, and biodiversity. I also bring a strong background with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in ecology, spatial analysis, & aquatic ecology from University of Toronto.
