• Originally tasked with performing a six month secondment from Ashurst LLP in order to provide assistance to the Santander UK plc Treasury Markets Legal Team in response to an increase in the volume of derivative hedging agreements being entered into by the Bank.• One of the main tasks I have been entrusted with while in this role has been to draft, negotiate and gain the requisite approvals from internal stakeholders for a wide of variety of derivative, repo and secured lending agreements including, but not limited to, ISDAs, GMRAs, GMSLAs, CDEAs for both the Treasury Markets and CFO Treasury teams. This has also required, on occasion, providing in-house legal support and advice to those external counsel contracted by the Bank to conduct negotiations for similar agreements. • I have also had the pleasure of providing assistance on a wide variety of ad-hoc tasks such as conducting the termination of a predetermined number of dormant agreements still active on the system, responding to internal and external audit queries, assisting in the establishment of close-out protocol for the Bank’s Repo and Secured Lending trading desks and taking over the ongoing task of filing and digital entry creation for executed agreements. • In addition to the tasks listed above, I have also joined the CFO Wellbeing Committee that is tasked with ensuring the employees within the CFO division have access to the proper mental and physical wellbeing information as well as organising public speakers to attend the Bank’s London and Milton Keynes offices to provide motivational speeches. I was also involved in organising the CFO Sports Day in August 2022 which was a huge success.
