Floor Hands work on oil and gas drilling rigs under the supervision of a driller. Common job duties are inspecting and maintaining equipment, performing mechanical repairs, implementing company procedures, making connections while drilling, digging ditches, and assisting in rigging down. Motorhand's primary duty is to ensure that all equipment is operating and functioning properly and execute minor repair work on equipment. The Motorhand is responsible for the generators, equipment, and systems that power the rig and drilling activities. Additional responsibilities include off-loading materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting in rig up and rig down. The Motorhand works closely with and oversees Floorhands on the rig floor, assists the Derrickhand as needed, and assists the Driller in day-to-day operations.

Rigger Responsibilities:Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved. Setting, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment machinery. Selecting the appropriate rigging gear.Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts. Riggers attach loads of equipment to cranes or structures using shackles, cables, chains, clamps or straps, employing pulleys, winches, lifts or chain hoists (aka chain motors). Quick load calculations are necessary for each load and engineering principles are always in play.
