Manage the monthly close process for various domestic and international corporate function businesses. Perform and review monthly journal entries, reconciliations, expense fluctuations, contracts, and management reports. Manage monthly global close procedures for severance, annual cash awards, and litigation reserves. Supervise team members in order to meet company deadlines and objectives. Serve as accounting specialist for various members of management to adhere to GAAP and corporate policies.

I serve as the subject matter expert on the COSO based internal control review; plan and conduct or supervise financial, operational, investigative and follow-up audits to assist all levels of management by providing independent and objective analyses, appraisals, and recommendations on financial and operating activities; review established systems for overall effectiveness and efficiency as well as compliance with policies and procedures of the component unit; plan, conduct and supervise the periodic testing of COSO documents and other internal controls to assess compliance with established key controls and assess the effectiveness of existing controls; perform or oversee and direct the performance of organizational reviews seeking to detect irregularities, frauds, and other acts and conditions that pose a risk to the organization; and draft reports of audit findings and recommendations to management for corrective action.

I worked with Plante & Moran for about 6 years. I started my career in our Chicago, IL office and moved to the Columbus, OH area in 2008. I was an in-charge within my company working on a large variety of clients within the manufacturing, higher education and service industries. I assisted in providing clients with financial reporting requirements by performing audits, reviews and other accounting services and expertise.
