Copy editing and page design for Steamboat Today and Craig Daily Press using Adobe CS4 & 5 following AP style paired with a local style guide. Responsibilities also include updating of the SteamboatToday.com and CraigDailyPress.com websites along with monitoring/updating social media outlets. During this time, Steamboat Pilot & Today was awarded 25 CAPER awards and 68 CPA awards.

During the more than five years I worked here, I managed the page design and website (including social media) for the Dalhart Texan newspaper, one of the oldest currently active newspapers in the Texas Panhandle. In addition to page design and website management, I assisted with news content and layout planning in coordination with each department and gained diverse experience in: article/column writing, typesetting, proof-reading, editing, pricing of paid-for content and customer service/communication. Through my work with the Dalhart Texan, I cultivated a deep sense of responsibility, attention to deadlines and the capacity to work with minimal supervision to ensure tasks are completed promptly and to exacting standards.I contributed to the newspaper's success as demonstrated by the Texas Panhandle Press Association Awards: Second Place for Best Special Section (2013), Honorable Mention for Front Page Layout (2013), First Place for Best Feature Writing (2012), First Place for Best Special Section (2012), Third Place for Spot News Photos (2011), Third Place for News Writing (2011), First and Third Place for Best Special Section (2010), Third Place for Best Website (2010), First Place and Third Place for Best Special Section (2009), Third Place for Best Website (2009).
