Jon E. Shaw is a former elected official who sat on the Palm Beach County Soil & Water Conservation District Board as Secretary/Treasurer filling Seat 3. This non-partisan Board's mission is to educate Palm Beach County residents, land users and businesses on ways to protect our natural resources, promote best management practices and conserve, improve and sustain the environment.Jonathan E. Shaw has over 40 years of experience in water resources with specific emphasis on water quality investigations, hydrogeology, contamination assessment and remediation. He has worked on industrial site evaluation and remediation, environmental due diligence assessments, Everglades restoration and litigation support. He has been qualified as an expert witness in the field of hydrogeology and testified in federal court and in administrative hearings. Water resources experience includes water use permitting, managing projects in support of Everglades’ restoration, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), deep injection well permitting, groundwater monitoring, assessment and remediation, and ecotoxicology. He also has extensive experience with contaminated sites including RCRA facility investigations and corrective actions, CERCLA site assessments and remedial actions, assessment of consent order sites, due diligence assessments and investigations and remedial actions at petroleum, dry cleaner, and industrial solvent contaminated sites. Jonathan works extensively with attorneys to help solve complex property transactions and litigation matters.
