As the SR/R&F Engineering Support Lead for the Forward Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (FPED) program, I am responsible for leading a small team of engineers and analysts in assessing future technology and solutions to be integrated into the build. I manage the workload for the team and act as a computer scientist to aid with technology assessment, testing, and verification/validation. I serve as the primary customer-facing leader of the team, and interact daily with the Program Management Office to integrate the team's efforts seamlessly with the overall efforts of the program. Additionally, I was chosen by the Program Management Office to act as the FPED program’s Lead Engineer while the program negotiates joining systems with the new Open Architecture Distributed Common Ground System (OA DCGS). In that capacity, I am responsible for more directing the efforts of more than 40 personnel located in a number of project teams all over the country, keeping all of the FPED program’s projects in lockstep and making systems engineering decisions for the program as a whole.
