Jonathan started his career as a geologist in research and the mining industry before transitioning to the contaminated land sector in 2004. Since then, he has managed a range of environmental and health risk assessment projects across the Oil and Gas, Industrial, Waste and Property sectors. Jonathan has held a number of roles including state manager for one of the largest global oil and gas companies, and program manager/team lead for the delivery of assessment and remediation services for a portfolio of more than 50 contaminated oil and gas sites. Jonathan has management experience at a project level involving day-to-day operations of a variety of small to large scale human health risk assessments, environmental assessment/audit and remediation projects on greenfields sites, brownfields redevelopments, manufacturing facilities, oil and gas refineries and landfills. Over the past four years, Jonathan has been involved in the assessment of a range of sites (fire training grounds, airfields, industrial facilities) contaminated with per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which stems from the use of Aqueous Film-Forming Foams (AFFF) associated with historical firefighting activities. Jonathan has project managed/directed: the assessment in detail of soil, groundwater and surface water PFAS contamination on areas greater than 20 square kilometres; studies on ecological impacts of contamination in surface water and fish; assessment of human health impacts from direct exposure and consumption of contaminated water, fish, poultry and livestock.Jonathan is an active member of the Australian Contaminated Land Consultants Association (Risk and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittees. He holds degrees in Earth Sciences (BSc (Hons)), environmental governance and sustainability (MEnv) and is a Certified Environmental Practitioner - Site Contamination Specialist (CEnvP SC) with the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ).
