As a graphic design graduate from Indiana University Kokomo, I have completed many designs under freelance and internships, as well as designs for the IUK art gallery. My work consisted of creation of post cards and posters and rebranding work for individual clients. I am also an established independent author with proficiency in InDesign. One of my accomplishments involved creating a unique brochure for the Tipton County School Corporation on a two-sided, three-paneled pamphlet with a color theme and specific layout specifications. Another feat was with Amazon's online publishing software where I had to reverse-engineer the design in order to create a professional looking publication. The software, upon upload of the text, reversed all text formatting positions, gutters, bleed lines, and margins. By reversing this issue in InDesign, it shows my ability to troubleshoot problems that do not have readily available solutions. While working for the IUK art gallery I created a post card using three colors and geometric shapes with a field of depth. This demonstrates my understanding of minimalism and color theory. My skill set with Microsoft 365 also helped play a role in my design as I entered a contest with a recycling group call the Sustainability Taskforce at IUK. I created a flow chart with a water bottle explaining why recycling is important, with a touch of polluted water in the back ground. Not only did my professor love it, but the taskforce chose to keep my poster as it showcased what they were looking for along side the winner. My ability to listen and take the time to take notes and make a creative brief demonstrates my appreciation for any client's time and their needs. The internships I have done while at IUK include working with multiple, independent, clients, including Family Social Services, Kokomo Arts Association, and First Friday Kokomo.
