Worked for five years at the Borough's renowned public-private sector regeneration partnership, Ravenhead Renaissance, which, when formed in 1987 was the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. Working initially on the Borough's Single Regeneration Budget programmes, Jonathan was responsible for the appraisal of key investments in the Borough, delivered through the Programme, including the redevelopment of the town centre, and the regeneration programme for the Wargrave Estate, alongside monitoring and assisting the management of their delivery. Jonathan's role expanded to include responsibility for accessing ERDF funding through the development of business plans in support of the bids, and so it was that his first key task upon joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2003 was setting about winning £7 million from ERDF for the conversion of the shell of the listed "Hanger 2" at the former Speke Airport, to a corporate headquarters for Littlewoods Home Shopping (now Shop Direct).
