About Jonathan Waldie
With my numerous years of experience in customer service roles, with both external and internal customers, and in front line as well as leadership roles, I know what is important to customers. I’m at my best when I’m working within a process environment, contributing to continuous improvment. I believe in empowering front line Associates allowing customers a seamless service experience. Perfection is the objective, continuous imporovement to processes is the method. When the service process fails to meet the customer expectations, offers of resolution must be readily available and offered without delay. Management of the empowerment process is preferable to penalizing customers for service deficiencies. I am proud to be a contributor to a successful and respected organization. The contributions to the economy and society by the organizations I am associated with provide me with significant career and personal satisfaction.

Implementation Specialist/Human Capital Management Consultant
CurrentWork with clients to assist them configure their cloud based HR/Payroll/Time tracking system. During my tenure, my flexibility has been very valuable, I have worked on almost every product currently in production, Performance Pack, People@work, HR/B, Workforce Now HR/Talent, Workforce Now Payroll. I have very strong organization and project management skills and enjoy helping others learn new processes and procedures, I find explaining and describing reinforces my knowledge and it is very much a win/win scenario.
Team Lead - Client Services -Hosted Solutions
I was promoted to the role of Team Lead of the Calgary Hosted Solutions Client Services team. I supervised up to 7 associates who were working in a call centre Q environment. I was part of a small national management team with colleagues in Calgary, Montreal and Dartmouth. This position involved organizing, coordinating, leading and controlling the activities of a work hour call centre. I was involved with the selection, training, planning and discipline of my team. Due to economic conditions, a shortage of qualified candidates in the highly competitive Calgary marketplace, the teams were redistributed to Dartmouth and Toronto, and my position became redundant. I transferred to the Implementation Department.
Client Service Representative/Subject Matter Expert - Hosted Solution
I was lucky to be selected to participate as a member of the first dedicated Client Services Team for ADP Canada's first internet product, Pay@work. We started with only 3 members, and quickly grew over 2 years to over 20 CSR's and Managers nationally.During my time in this role, the new online integrated Payroll/HR product "Performance Pack" was developed and rolled out. I became the "go-to" subject matter expert for both products and associated internal processes.I had some exciting opportunities that I persued, as the team grew, I was asked to share my knowledge by travelling to Dartmouth office to train/support the new team members there. I traveled there on 3 occassions as new associates were added.Eventually, the Hosted Solutions team was merged into the larger overall Client Service Department, I was asked to create and present a training course to present our products to the Client Service Representatives. This project involved not only my development of the material and presentation of the content, but involved my travelling to Vancouver, Toronto and again to Dartmouth to share the contents. These 2 projects are highlights of my career and reinforced my belief that training and sharing of knowledge is one of my strengths.
Client Service Representative - Majors Prairies/Relief Nationals/National Accounts
Upon completion of the successful conversion of Marriott Hotel Calgary payroll system from ADP Paytech to ADP Autopay, I pursued and was offered an opportunity to join a brand new team of Client Service Representatives at ADP in Calgary.I successfully completed the 8 week baseline training course, this combined with my Certified Payroll Administrator certification, allowed me to quickly offer assistance to customers and associates alike.Initially, I was a member of the ADP Paytech Praries service team, however after approximately 1 year, I was asked to do "relief" coverage of some of the more senior "National" representatives.I was promoted to dedicated National CSR in 2002. I was in this role until moving to the Hosted Solutions Group.
Human Resource Specialist - Payroll And Benefits
I made a career transition from direct customer service to internal team.I had an interest in Human Resources, and a position as "Payroll and Benefits Specialist" was available. I pursued the opportunity and was lucky to be offered the change to take on this entirely new challenge. After some training at ADP and enrollment and completion of the Canadian Payroll Association courses, I quickly became a key member of the Human Resources/Accounting teams.During my time in payroll, the company chose to convert the existing system from ADP Paytech to ADP Autopay, so as to standardize with the other 3 Canadian properties. This was an exciting project as it was my first exposure to project management and computer program configuration. With the assistance of my ADP Implementation Specialist, we converted the payroll system for the 500 to 600 employees within the designated 3 month time period.Additionally, during my tenure in this role, ADP Canada developed and rolled out an entirely new employee benefit program. I was a key player in the roll out and administration of this program.
Front Desk Assistant Manager
I was promoted to Assistant Front Desk Manager, this role involved organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling teams of Associates in the Guest Services area. The departments included Front Desk Associates, PBX telephone operators, Bell staff, Concierge and Valet Parking/Door Associates.I was a member of a small Management team, there was a Front Office Manager and there was a 2nd Assistance Front Desk Manager. Generally, we worked opposite shifts so as to have supervisory coverage throught the 16 hours dayshift hours of the operation. We also worked closely with the Night Audit Supervisor.During my tenure in this role, the hotel was sold and converted to a Corporate Marriott branded property. This involved the implementation of all the processes, systems and renovations to standardize it with all other Marriott Hotels in North America. This process, of installing a strong customer service corporate culture was a fascinating and eye opening experience. To my surprise, I embraced the opportunities that came with the resources large multi-national corporations can provide. I believe this experience was what spurred me to become interested in "process" and "organizational behaviour" in the work place.Additionally, the renovations involved the dismantling of the entire lobby while the hotel was still operating. I was a key player in maintaining and positive work environment for both customers and employees during this time of turmoil. The strong empowerment program within Marriott became indispensible and re-inforced my belief that process and tools allow people to be successful.
Night Auditor
Worked with a small team of "auditors" who alternated duties between accounting and customer service.
Night Audit Supervisor
Supervised a small team of auditors who alternated duties between accounting and customer service. Worked closely with the "Assistant Manager" to ensure timely and smooth handoff from the day shift to the night shift.
Housekeeping Quality Control And Linen Room Supervisor
Supervisor of housekeeping operations of a major downtown corporate hotel. In this role, I alternated between room and public area cleanliness quality control checks and linen room supervision/coordination.This was an entirely new experience for me and was very challenging, working with products, services and people that I had not previously done. While exciting and challenging, during the recession of the early 90's, due to budget reductions my position was eliminated.
Front Desk Clerk
Upon completion of my diploma at SAIT, I was successful in my career search to be accepted as a full-time Front Desk Clerk at the largest corporate hotel in Calgary. The Westin Hotel is a 525 room, two tower hotel with a rooftop swimming poolThe environment of the corporate was a fascinating environment to work. The marketing and product presentation was first rate, and it re-inforced in me that a company can legitimately charge a fair price for their product, when that product is of the highest quality and consistency.
Front Desk Agent
I worked as Front Desk Agent at a suburban corporate hotel in Northeast Calgary. This was my first exposure to urban hospitality industry. The opportunities for those individuals willing to work and take a chance were amazing.I was lucky that they company allowed me to change my status from Full-time to Part-time during my 2 years of school. This was a valuable opportunity to stay involved the business I was studying, as well as to help subsidize my education.
