Studio 804 educates students through the experience of all aspects embodied by design/build, a delivery model that is gaining widespread interest in the architectural profession. The organization is a comprehensive education opportunity for graduate students entering the final year of the Master of Architecture program at the University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design and Planning. For the last sixteen years, Studio 804 has pioneered new technologies and advanced construction techniques, including four LEED Platinum projects completed to date. Studio 804 produces one building per year, and it is through the support of organization and individuals committed to environmental stewardship that we are able to continue our service to the community at large.Current Project:The Forum at Marvin Hall will construct a new lecture hall and transform the existing second floor jury room into a student commons area. The new commons space will offer an area for students to congregate and create a foyer for the lecture hall. The addition will extend from the south elevation of the existing Marvin Hall and be accessed thru two existing windows that will be converted to accommodate the passage opening. Following the tradition of previous Studio 804 projects, the facility will incorporate both passive and active sustainable systems and technologies. The building is intended to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
