Reporting to the Head of Materials Science, this role supports the team in all aspects of CompositeTest and Development. It is an extremely challenging and varied role.Below are my key tasks: • Laminating and fitting complex composite Test and Development projects, for in house or, on track testing.• Proof of concept work.• Material specimen laminating, sectioning, bonding and testing.• Potting, grinding and polishing Composite specimens ready for Microscopy.• Advancing new technologies and overseeing their implementation into production• Working closely with Engineers/Designers/Working Groups on new innovations, problem solving, cost saving and the improvement of designs and processes.• Supplier visits to oversee process refinements.• Managing and replenishing Composite Test and Development stock levels, including materials and consumables, raising purchase requisitions when required.• Being extremely flexible in approach to working, taking responsibility for the delivery of fast moving projects on time and with the desired results.• Ability to prioritise work effectively.• Methodically organise projects from concept to completion.• Document projects and procedures to a high standard.Additional Training undertaken in this role• Instron 200 - Operator trained in Compression, Flexural and Tensile testing.• Bennett Saw – Operator trained in specimen cutting and sectioning.• Keyence Microscope – Operator trained in specimen capture and measurement.• SAP trained.
