Starting as a reporter on the Mid-Devon Advertiser series, after four months I was promoted to district reporter, followed by Editor in year two, with special responsibility for the Dawlish Gazette. This involved managing the newspaper’s satellite office, editorial production, researching, commissioning, interviewing, writing copy and taking photographs on a daily basis. The position meant regularly dealing with members of the public, political and business leaders.
