GO-GETTER -Started my first business at the age of 9 so I could buy all of Rod Stewart's albums after seeing him at one of my first concerts. To pay my way through college, I worked a series of jobs beginning at the financial aid dept at ASU. From there I went to First Union for two years doing credit card consolidations. While there, I was recruited to work at a commercial collection agency making $50,000/yr. Four years in that crazy place - where it was typical for medics or police to show up at our workplace due to regular fights breaking out in the office - led me to search for a more peaceful way to help people manage their money. I balanced all that while pursuing my passion for playing guitar in a bluegrass band that traveled 4 nights a week to gigs all over the US.MUSICIAN - The first song I ever learned to play on a guitar was Wildwood Flower. My Grandpa taught me that one when I was 4 years old. I've had a guitar in my arm's reach ever since.LICENSED PILOT AT 16 - When I was 14, I read Richard Bach's Illusions and was inspired to fly airplanes. I had my Dad drop me off at the Greensboro Airport where I could watch airplanes take off and land. While there, I spoke to the director of flight operations and asked for a job. He hired me at $4.25 per hour to wash airplanes. That job funded flight lessons which I took over the course of two years until I earned my pilot's license. I soloed on my sixteenth birthday.DISC GOLF COURSE OWNER - Having family roots in the NC mountains and loving the land where I grew up inspired me to take the land I acquired and beautify it for all the family to enjoy. A friend suggested the land was highly suitable for a disc golf course. That was all it took to recruit the local disc golf community and in a very short time, we've co-created a place to throw, hold tournaments and become ambassadors to this great sport.FATHER - My daughters, ages 3 and 13 are my favorite people on the planet. I absolutely love spending time with them on our family land with our 3 dogs, Bullseye, Gracie and Millie. One of our favorite things to do is load up in the UTV and ride on mountain trails.
