👋 Nice to meet you! I'm a multi-disciplinary Software Engineer with a fascination for the beauty of logic. 👋WHAT I DO NOW🧬 I design, create, and maintain large-scale data pipelines, SQL databases, and scripts in Python for the State of Kansas to keep the state's coronavirus response competitive and relevant. My contributions have pushed the state to be among the top 3 in the nation for turnaround time of Next-Generation Sequencing results for SARS-CoV-2. 👨‍🔬ABOUT ME👨‍🎓 I spent my time at Washburn University studying Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. I immediately fell for the intricacy of biological mechanisms, evidenced by a 4.0 GPA at graduation. In fact, I was selected as the sole Sibberson Award winner among my graduating class of 2019, the most prestigious honor Washburn University can bestow upon a student. 👨‍🎓💼 In 2018, while still attending Washburn University, I helped found Arbor as Director of Research and Development. The company sought to reimagine insects as a source of food in western culture. During my time at the company, I imagined and built shelves to efficiently store, feed and care for as many crickets as possible. My contributions enabled the business to pick up several prestigious rewards: 1st place in both 2018 and 2019 WU Business competitions. We received “Best Pitch” for the 2019 Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge, and took 2nd place in the 2019 Network of International Business Schools Business Plan Competition, held in Japan. 🗾👨‍💼🙋‍♂️ I love taking the opportunity to serve others. Most recently, I volunteer my time as an Audio Technical team member at Lion and Lamb Church. Throughout high school, I volunteered at several local food drives through Harvesters, served as a one-on-one counselor at Camp Barnabas (for special needs campers), and helped elementary school kids learn to read and develop critical thinking skills through OWLs. During my college years, I shared my interest in learning with middle-school kids by volunteering at Washburn’s yearly Women in Science days. 💛WHAT I’M CURRENTLY WORKING ON📚 I have spent the past two years discovering a new love for Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania. I hope to graduate with a Master’s in Computer Information Technology in Spring of ‘23.
