Driven digital professional who has always been passionate about creating, developing and then running inspirational websites, including teamsky.com which was the first cycling site to be shortlisted for Sports Website of the Year at the Sports Industry Awards.Previously I was Betting Editor at the launch of sportinglife.com and have a wealth of digital publishing experience and relish the challenge of defining the overall vision and then delivering engaging content across multiple platforms.At Team Sky from the end of 2009 onwards I shaped both the digital and fan engagement strategy of the newly-formed professional road racing team, placing a particular emphasis on social media to build up Facebook and Twitter followings from zero to a combined 370,000 in less than three years as we became the most popular cycling team in the world.Using the 'inspiration to participation' message we also helped BSkyB deliver on their commercial, brand and CSR objectives for cycling as over a million Britons were encouraged to get back on their bikes and cycle regularly again.I was then appointed Head of Content for timeoutdoors.com, a company which makes it easier for people to get involved in a wide range of outdoor sports and activities. In my two years there, newsletter subscribers increased from 60,000 to over 100K, while website traffic more than doubled.Since then I've taken on various consultancy and freelance projects, including work for the newly-formed PTO (Professional Triathletes Organisation) as they transform their sport with their athlete members and take it to a wider audience.That indirectly led to my new role from the start of 2022 as Editorial Director for TRI247 Ltd.The initial focus will be to build out the editorial team on TRI247 and the content proposition which goes along with that - to produce the most comprehensive, professional and independent resource for triathlon, while making a concerted effort to get new fans interested in the sport.
