Utilizing my experiences working in defense, bio-technology, and large-scale distributed systems, I'm building my vision of advancing healthcare with bioinformatics. Serendipity Bio aims to leverage software to improve patient outcomes, starting with those affected by Type-1 and Type-2 diabetes.

Here at Netflix, within a team of six engineers, my role revolves around creating and maintaining developer tools and infrastructure for Netflix's UI engineers. I've led several multi-discipline projects, interfacing with multiple, functional teams throughout Netflix. Some of these teams and partnerships including observability, test automation, compute, cloud networking, and delivery. Our work focuses on the developer experience, increasing developer & product velocity, and team productivity with robust and easy to use tools. My team's products are used daily by engineering partners in studio finance, content engineering, marketing, data science and more!I'm a full-stack engineer, with experience working on every aspect of modern web development from component frameworks, such as React, to server technologies like Node.js, and deployment technologies from Jenkins to AWS Route53. My experience as Netflix has also brought me into work with distributed systems, reliability / observability, and scaling developer platforms and tools. Alongside my day-to-day activities as an engineer, I enjoy providing mentorship and sponsorship to our incoming emerging talent that includes new graduates and interns.

Implemented and updated new and existing products utilizing HTML5 and Javascript frameworks (Knockout, jQuery, Bootstrap, and AngularJS) spanning multiple mobile and desktop browsers. Managed software testing, performance, and release candidates within a rapid development environment for a cloud based marketing & advertising research engine. Validated and verified statistical analysis of advertisement data represented through graphing and charting engines, as well as data import & export. Utilized black and white box testing methodologies to analyze/troubleshoot user interface and server-side issues. Duties revolved around testing user interfaces written in HTML5 and JavaScript while administering test cases against Java services built on top of Amazon’s Simple Queue Service. Developed new processes and test cases to ensure thorough user interface and server testing prior to live, production deployments. Responsible for managing overseas contractors and a local team tasked with daily software test regression of both web and mobile platforms. Delegated daily tasks for defect analysis and resolution. Active focus: - Implemented and maintaining a full web browser & cross platform automation test framework utilizing Selenium Grid and Selenium WebDriver to perform daily regression testing of HTML5 user interfaces. - Implementing and maintaining test tools and infrastructure. Tools are built with Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, AngularJS, Knockout, RequireJS, and Spring. - Responsible for developer operations (build and dependency management), including automation of build processes and development environment management using Jenkins CI, Git, and Maven. - Implemented tooling and software packages with Amazon cloud technologies: EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Simple Work Flow, and Simple Queue Service.

Responsible for developing test cases, test plans, and testing methodologies for the CareLink brand of Medtronic's diabetes patient therapy software. Design and maintain manual test suites providing functional coverage and regression for the following aspects of Java based applications: user interfaces, report generation, third-party device compatibility, data accuracy, cross-browser and cross-platform support, and foreign locale installations. Specializing in black, grey, and white box testing, skills are built around the ability to quickly learn and utilize software simulation tools, third-party medical devices, understanding critical processes, software development lifecycles, and regulatory guidelines. Coordinate with software development, requirements engineering, and software quality groups to understand the design, implementation, and features of patient software, while planning and executing test directives prior to FDA submission and deployment.With a team of eight engineers, led the project effort to validate and verify Apple and PC based Internet browsers and operating systems for Medtronic’s newest version of online therapy software and next generation therapy devices.Fundamental skills include defect reporting, requirements analysis, training and mentoring junior test engineers, and managing test projects. Planned efforts for application support of Medtronic’s next generation insulin pumps and developed new infrastructure to allow increased throughput during formal testing cycles. Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining test software utilities written in C#, Visual Basic, and Java.

Among six variants of Bradley Combat Vehicles, supported the development, integration, and testing of the following systems and software modules: weapons’ control, diagnostics/prognostics, and user interfaces.Led the software and systems quality assurance effort for the U.S. Army, USSOCOM, U.S. Marine Corps’ Joint Light Tactical Vehicle – Technology Demonstrator.Evaluated systems’ requirements, software modules, system design documentation, reviewed test procedures, and witnessed formal qualification tests. I facilitated positive engineering change by providing evaluations to multiple engineering groups, project managers, and the Customer. Participated in change control boards with software, systems, and test groups.Led efforts in performing test readiness review activities, including tracking software and system documentation, system configurations, oversaw formal software builds and releases, and validated test beds and vehicle configurations. Performed root cause analysis and debugging on target software and hardware locally and at vendor sites.Led supplier (General Dynamics) software testing activities during the on-going integration of Smart Display Units. At the Canadian supplier site, I provided guidance to engineering groups in software configuration management, test environment management, root-cause analysis, and post-test activities.Planned and conducted process audits of Bradley and JLTV engineering groups in accordance with SEI CMMI Level 5 practices to enforce process and engineering compliance.Audits focused on lean business practices that streamlined workflow between management and engineering groups, improving problem resolution efficiency, tracking software defects, and contributing to overall product and software quality.Provided process guidance across the following groups: systems and software engineering, software configuration management, project management, risk management, integration, and test.
