- Tech Lead for core platform stream processing and content indexing team. The legacy platform required a very large team to maintain, significant on-going engineering working hours, and required expensive infrastructure. This project was a critical blocker preventing the legacy platform deprecation and the problem it solved was consistently overlooked. The project was technically very difficult and not "fun," but it was immensely valuable. The project was written using Java.- Deploy, monitor, manage, and optimize the performance of large-scale, business-critical ElasticSearch clusters.- Deploy, monitor, manage and administrate multi-data center Apache Cassandra rings.- Bootstrap many teams as an Operations consultant and leader, developing processes, tools, software and documentation to deploy, monitor and manage applications and systems.- Deploy applications to Amazon EC2 using AWS Cloudformation, S3, et al.- Automate and manage configuration using Puppet and shell scripting.- Participate in on-call schedules and perform incident response duties on a comprehensive coverage schedule.
