About Jonathan Love

As the Stanwell Professorial Chair in Hydrogen at CQUniversity, I am driving innovation in materials, technology integration and renewable hydrogen production systems working with experts in CQUniversity and Stanwell. Collaborating across academia and the broader hydrogen industry, we are pushing boundaries from lab-based research, testbed construction to real-world applications, reinforcing our commitment to a sustainable energy future and impacting industry transformation in the Gladstone and Central Queensland region.I began my career in the hydrogen industry 30 years ago, gaining experience in the real-world research, development, and deployment (RD&D) of electrolysers and fuel cells. My work has contributed to sustainable energy and renewable hydrogen systems, spanning from low to high technology readiness levels. This journey has taken me through SME start-ups, major industry players, and, more recently, academic roles that involve collaboration with the industry.Prior to becoming an academic I held key leadership positions in SME start-up industry with responsibility for delivering research in SOFCs and technology transfer for high volume production. Leader of a world class research team of up to 30 scientists and engineers during the 2008-2012 period that Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd (CFCL) became a world leader in SOFC. Co-recipient of the Australasian Industrial Research Group (AIRG) Medal for Australasian SME Technological Innovation, 2012 with key members of the BlueGen™ Development Team at CFCL.

Listed skills include Materials Science, Fuel Cells, R&D, Electrochemistry, and 38 others.
