• Apollo management is one of the world's top private equity firms with a particular focus on distressed assets and special situations investing.• As an investment analyst in Apollo’s private equity and distressed team, I supported the team’s analysis of various levered debt and debt-for-equity investment opportunities.• Transaction examples include: o A US$260 million distressed-for-control debt investment in a large PE-backed building materials business. o US$900 million of performing levered debt investments from businesses ranging from services to oil platforms to luxury cars in the context of the financial crisis.

• Pershing Square is an American hedge fund with a value-oriented "activist" investment strategy focused primarily on American stock markets. It became famous in 2007 as it had seen the financial crisis coming and bet that it would occur ("the big short").• I worked with the newly recruited COO as the fund was preparing to scale up its corporate infrastructure. I also assisted the strategic shift in the firm’s investor base to a greater weighting towards institutional investors with the investor relations department.
