Non executive director and board member. I made the decision to stand down as chief executive in order to focus on patient safety and after an extensive search, I handed over to Seyed Mortazavi in December 2015. I remained on the board of Datix as a non executive director and shareholder. I'm also working to establish a new patient safety organisation that aims to help healthcare providers around the world learn from things that go wrong.

I was appointed to the position of chief executive following a management restructuring. I continued to transform the business with the recruitment of a sales and marketing director and CTO, and the appointment of a COO to run operations. The business continued to grow strongly, with a rapid growth in both customer base and recurring revenues. The company maintained a focus on helping our customers protect patients from harm.In 2013, I led Datix's second management buyout, backed by Five Arrows Principal Investments, the private equity arm of Rothschild & Co.UK business continued to grow and Datix expanded into new sectors, including social care, retail pharmacy, outsourced healthcare services providers and social housing.In the US, our DOD contract continued with several extensions and in 2016 the PSR (Patient Safety Reporting) system was expanded to include the Veterans Health Administration, creating one of the largest patient safety learning systems in the world. I was also responsible for Datix winning a contract with UHC (University HealthSystems Consortium, now Vizient) to supply software to US academic medical centers and associated hospitals. This led to other sales in the US to large hospital networks all over the country. I established a US corporation, Datix (USA) Inc, with fully staffed offices in Chicago and the Washington, DC area.Our business in Canada continued to grow, with other province-wide systems, hospitals in Ontario and sales to Canada-wide organisations. We also won business with HIROC, Canada's leading provider of healthcare liability insurance.Datix continued to expand geographically, winning state-wide contracts in Australia and establishing a significant presence in the Gulf region through our partner, HealthMatrix.

I took on this position following a management buyout backed by Bowmark Capital. I was jointly responsible for running the company, overseeing the transition from a family business to a corporate entity. This involved putting in place proper corporate and governance structures, including establishing a board, appointing a chairman and recruiting a finance director.My responsibilities continued to include sales, marketing and managing software design and development. I was responsible for winning the contract for the US Department of Defense Military Health System, which provides healthcare to active duty and retired US Military personnel and their dependents. This remains one of Datix's most significant customers.

Demoted to the role of business development manager, I focused on sales, marketing and software development. I was able to use my relationships with customers to gain a deep understanding of their patient safety learning requirements and continue to develop the software to meet their needs.I consolidated Datix's position in the UK market, with about 70% of NHS organisations using Datix. I also made sales to the independent sector, with a number of large private providers becoming customers.I made Datix's first large international sale, to the Canadian province of British Columbia, where Datix is used for the province-wide Patient Safety Learning System (PSLS), as well as other sales in Canada.

Refocused company on patient safety and healthcare risk management and took on responsibility for sales. As Datix's main salesperson, I rapidly grew sales to the point at which the majority of NHS trusts were Datix customers. I was hugely successful as general manager and built a great team to deliver amazing customer satisfaction.

Managing software development and support team. Responsible for strategic development of DATIX's healthcare risk management application.

Development, maintenance and support of DATIX's legal case management and healthcare risk management software applications. Helped create the original Datix incident reporting and learning platform.

I established Datix in the USA, opening fully staffed offices in Chicago and Washington DC (Fairfax, VA).
