Satellite Communications Lead and RF Subsystem cost account manager. Conceived the communications architecture and design for NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), including S-Band TT&C and Ka-Band science links and increased DSN max data rate from 6 Mbps to over 109 Mbps (250 Msym/sec). Managed component procurement and design team with budget of $10 million as well as RF subsystem integration and test. Wrote and executed Deep Space Network (DSN) Compatibility Test Procedures. Conceived innovative design to leverage additive manufacturing and expedite high gain antenna feed network engineering model. Applied similar approach to HGA feed hat concept to expedite system I&T. Developed and presented subsystem requirements and design at key milestone reviews including SRR, PDR and CDR. Created graphical spacecraft orbit propagator and dynamic link analysis models in MATLAB for launch trajectories and low earth orbits, including matrix based atmospheric loss models that emulated STK capabilities and increased processing speed by a factor of 20 over existing models. Managed a variety of software defined radio (SDR) design initiatives and modeling efforts. Developed dynamic link analysis models in System Toolkit for spacecraft swarms to analyze link performance for a variety of candidate antenna models and modulation types.

Developed Electronic Warfare architectures and DSP solutions for Navy Customer. Focused on agile, product line solutions for direction finding signal exploitation methods, and received customer commendations for field work that saved their program.

Design lead for the ORBCOMM Gateway Transceiver. Designed and implemented DSP algorithms for ORBCOMM gateway transceiver and subscriber transmitter. Awarded the Orbital Sciences Corporation 1999 Technology Achievement Award for service recovery design and implementation resulting in the continued operation of 10 spacecraft.

Conceived architecture and led the seminal development of COTS oriented Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) system using laptops and pen-based computers for the City of Columbia, SC.Designed hardware and software for Wireless Communication IR&D efforts.
