I am lucky to have the opportunity to bring on long-time colleague John T.D. Bathke in a new practice. John brings even more intellectual property experience, including significant experience with international clients and securing rights around the world. As before, I focus my practice in three main areas:- Intellectual property and internet law. I obtain intellectual property protection for firm clients and enforce those rights. I also defend our clients in intellectual property matters. Along with intellectual property, I have developed a substantial internet law practice (e.g. SaaS agreements, website and application terms of use and privacy policies, data privacy concerns, and anonymous torts originating on the internet). - Commercial Litigation. Complimenting my firm's focus on the needs of entrepreneurs, small businesses, and medium size businesses, I represent our clients in advancing or defending lawsuits.- Utility & Energy law. I represent landowners affected by transmission line construction, wind farm construction, or pipeline construction.I am either licensed in, a member of the bar of, or have appeared in the Central and Northern Districts of Illinois, Southern District of Indiana, Eastern District of Missouri, the Central and Northern Districts of California, District of Colorado, the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, the District of New Jersey, the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee, the Western District of Kentucky, the Sixth and Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, the Illinois Commerce Commission, and various Illinois'​ State courts and administrative agencies for these matters.
