FesikDiscovery of small molecule inhibitors of protein-protein interactions of WDR5- Application of structure-based design and traditional medicinal chemistry approaches to develop chemical probes and inhibitors with drug-like properties. Potency is driven by biochemical and cellular assays, while DMPK is assessed with external collaborators.- Optimization of simple, micromolar hits into lead compounds with sub-nanomolar biochemical potency for use in target validation and efficacy studies.- Synthesis of labeled probes to enable assay development and for cellular mechanism of action studies.- Scientific mentoring of graduate student and incoming postdoctoral chemists.- Exploration of new binding sites via NMR-based second-site screening, using both linking and growing approaches.
