At ICF, I led consulting engagements with clients in several key areas related to zero- and near-zero emission (ZNZE) vehicles, fueling and charging infrastructure, and transportation decarbonization in general. Clients included fleets and end users, utilities, seaports and inland ports, airports, all levels of government (local, regional, state, and federal), regional planning organizations, and other entities seeking to reduce emissions while maintaining strong economic, financial, and social outcomes. My primary areas of work included:- Fleet transition advisory and planning- Utility electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure incentive and make-ready program design, development, and launch - Zero-emission vehicle and infrastructure policy research, analysis, and advisory- EV and EV charging infrastructure roadmaps, readiness plans, implementation strategies- Total cost of ownership model development and advisory- Port decarbonization strategy and regional zero-emissions goods movement strategy- Airport and airline transportation decarbonization strategy and advisoryI also led and contributed to ongoing business development efforts to grow ICF’s body of work in the areas above.

- Led the planning and facilitation of multiple zero-emission (ZE), medium- and heavy-duty (MHD) vehicle infrastructure working group sessions with California state agencies, utilities, air districts, regional planning organizations, fleets, and other stakeholders to sustain ongoing discussion and planning for ZE MHD vehicle infrastructure development in the State.- Took a leading contributor role in the development of the Clean Corridor Campaign Coalition with staff leadership to form an industry-backed coalition advocating for federal grant dollars to fund development of alternative fuel infrastructure along U.S. highways.- Co-led research into and development of the West Coast Collaborative Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Corridor Coalition’s Strategic Plan for alternative fuel infrastructure development along major west coast corridors- Contributed to the West Coast Clean Transit Corridor Initiative by leading development of a total cost of ownership calculator, a charger product market assessment, and a survey to fleets, charger manufacturers, and vehicle manufacturers- Led development of the California HVIP Total Cost of Ownership Estimator, a publicly-available tool to assist fleets in understanding the cost of ZE vehicles compared to conventionally-fueled vehicles- Contributed to business development efforts- Contributed to the formation of international partnerships via CALSTART’s Global Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero Program

- Led development of the California HVIP Total Cost of Ownership Estimator, a publicly-available tool to assist fleets in understanding the cost of ZE vehicles compared to conventionally-fueled vehicles- Served as both the project manager and lead for data collection and analysis on several ZE bus demonstration and pilot projects, as well as market assessments, strategic plans, and other studies on ZE buses and trucks.- Led the knowledge transfer efforts of the Advanced Transit Bus Vehicle-Grid Integration Project, including the development of a best practices guide on VGI system development, as well as educational and training materials on clean transportation technologies more broadly- Contributed to business development efforts- Contributed to the formation of international partnerships via CALSTART’s Global Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero Program

- Led a research thesis examining governance strategies that may support economic redevelopment in coal-impacted, Central Appalachian communities given the decline of their regional coal industry- Quantitatively and qualitatively examined the public and private sector impacts of oil and gas development in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, with a focus on understanding boom-and-bust cycles, their impact on regional economic development, and policy options for capturing and retaining wealth from the industry regionally- Planned and moderated a series of webinars related to policy and community impacts from shale development, including workforce development and transferable skill-building, a recap of the 2017 OHIO Shale Policy and Technology Symposium, shale midstream market trends, methane regulation, and energy-related fiscal policy- Supported primary investigators with research on regional energy-based economic development efforts and sustainable development

-Initiated a platform to optimize the process of generating manufacturing line design data among a network of global users at a Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturer, improving throughput in design change rollouts-Assisted TCS Innovation Labs in defining a proposal to map the supply network for a major CPG manufacturer with the goal of providing global process improvement-Coordinated a collaborative onsite/offshore partnership between TCS and a CPG client to deliver documentation necessary for global manufacturing line design change rollouts, part of an effort to improve Platform Lifecycle Management operations-Published a White Paper entitled "Closing the Loop: The Interrelation between Product Lifecycle Management and Supply Chain Management", calling for PLM systems to transform as enablers of sustainable SCM systems-Enhanced and commissioned a manufacturing emulation model of a high-speed case-bundler for a major CPG company in Germany, enabling offline collision testing and homing procedures-Supported the development of a collaborative partnership between TCS and Green Umbrella, Cincinnati's regional sustainability alliance, and supported promotion of employee volunteering opportunities with the alliance

- Conducted capability studies on torque converter clutch products, as well as the processes used to manufacture them, using Six Sigma practices- Assisted Manufacturing Quality Engineers (MQEs) in improving cable connections on TCC assembly lines by implementing a Kaizen project which led to the development of unique rivet checker cable brackets, leading to an estimated $20,000 per year cost avoidance for the department- Renovated and helped to relocate the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) department's standardized staging and final inspection site- Assisted MQEs in implementing Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in order to predict and appraise possible failure scenarios while producing new parts, and to ensure the quality and reliability of manufacturing processes for new parts- Communicated with external suppliers to evaluate rivet dispenser machinery solutions for TCC assembly lines as a way to poka-yoke riveting processes for operators- Created and controlled tens of work and gage instructions in order to explain and simplify operating procedures used by operators in the TCC department- Updated and maintained daily customer quality charts that displayed the frequency of customer complaints for the department's products- Alerted management and operators of quality issues by use of a controlled quality alert database- Conducted on-site part inspections for Ford Transmission plants at multiple locations
