In the automotive field, my experience includes: vehicle safety systems, brake monitoring systems, transmission layouts, gear selector assemblies, gear shift strategies for transmission systems, control systems, vehicle entry systems, vehicle seating, vehicle door mechanisms, vehicle security systems, in-cabin features, and parking systems.My areas of expertise include drafting patent specifications, prosecuting patent applications at the European Patent Office (EPO) and the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), EPO oppositions and appeals, and advising clients on foreign filing strategies, infringement, validity and freedom to operate (FTO) opinions. I also have experience with inventions in the following sectors: industrial systems and components, renewable energy, aerospace, construction, manufacturing, agricultural equipment, medical devices, consumer goods, packaging, lighting, mining equipment, and office equipment.I assists clients to protect their designs. I prepare and file registered design applications at the European Union designs registry (EUIPO) and the UKIPO.I also have experience in preparing due diligence reports on intellectual property rights, and recording changes of ownership of intellectual property rights, for example when rights are transferred by way of an assignment, agreement or merger, and recording licenses.I have extensive experience of working with SMEs, helping clients to make strategic decisions to protect their intellectual property (IP) and innovations.
