Dr. Jonathan Seale is a Senior Data Scientist and Solution Architect at ATA, LLC and an accomplished astrophysicist with expertise in designing data-intensive systems and implementing creative and effective solutions to a wide variety of complex data problems. Dr. Seale has experience supporting all data-focused components of data-intensive systems, from data collection, ETL, and data storage to machine learning application and visualization. In particular, he is an expert in the application of machine learning operations (MLOps) to production systems, including the development, testing, deployment, and management of model services. As a data scientist, he is an expert in efficient classification, feature extraction, and time series prediction algorithms, which he has implemented in production for both government (DoD, cyber and physical security) and commercial (aviation, logistics) clients. Prior to joining ATA, Dr. Seale was Lead Data Scientist at social media platform SameGrain, Inc., where he led the development of the product’s core machine learning capabilities and managed technical product development from design to production. As a research scientist with the Center for Astrophysical Studies at Johns Hopkins University and the Space Telescope Science Institute, he led and collaborated on numerous research projects investigating the process of star formation, leading to over 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals and hundreds of citations by other scientific authors.
