Artsmix connects people through creativity - we support and develop local creative talent across Yorkshire and in particular Leeds and Bradford by providing pop-up trading events for artists, clothing and jewellery producers, crafts people and producers of creative/artisan food. The current Albion Place Market, right in the centre of Leeds, held every other Saturday from the back end of March until September and then we run weekly throughout October, November and December. With a footfall in excess of 24,000 though Albion Place (on a regular Saturday) this is a terrific trading opportunity and a great place to treat yourself or to buy truly original gifts for others. The Albion Place trading record currently stands excess of £2000, in one day off one stall! Our 'Pop-up' market runs from 10.30am to 6pm every Saturday.As well as running our regular market in Leeds we are always on the look out for other events that may help our great collection of independent traders with other opportunities and we undertake consultancy work too, as long as these projects fit with our mission of connecting people through creativity. This was a large events venue for corporate functions, private parties, weddings, product launches, Christmas Parties or club nights.

I accepted the offer to become an Associate Director at Bradford City, though other business commitments meant that I stood down after only a short time.

It was great to be associated with Bradford GRID - a social enterprise with three enterprise centres across Bradford that assisted the development of small and new start businesses. As 'Chair' I developed the networking programme as well as chairing the meetings and it was through my involvement with this that I moved into my position as an enterprise coach with Bradford Trident.

I worked with Rushbond on the website for their leisure based development at Centenary Square and liaised with them, their tenants and the Bradford Council on marketing and events strategies in and around City Park in Bradford and their development in Brewery Wharf in Leeds.

Working on a self employed basis I focussed on helping organisations with their marketing strategy, developing and writing marketing plans and working with a different design companies across a range of marketing platforms. I was also the recipient of The Bradford Grid 'Special Recognition' Business Gem Award 2009 for my contribution to business networking and for the "huge amount of support" given to a range of businesses, new and established, that are members of the Bradford Grid.

My role involved sourcing and nurturing links with a wide variety of organisations across the sectors; advising, assisting and developing marketing strategies and finding cost effective ways to enhance promotion and thus growth. This included helping clients to develop clear and measurable strategies with both print and digital media and the writing marketing copy. I worked through various departments in the company. The bulk of my time being in the sales support, marketing and promotions office in Bradford, with a year in the retail travel agency in London and a summer working as an overseas representative in Mallorca.
