Teradata acquired the RainStor product portfolio in December 2014.Managed the transition of RainStor's business into Teradata building a team from globally distributed personnel. Integrated RainStor's IT systems and applications, IT infrastructure and datacentre into Teradata. Integrated R&D processes and tools into Teradata or where appropriate transitioned to use Teradata's existing processes and tools. Migrated RainStor's suppliers and financials.Delivered the RainStor technical hands-on training course and advanced technical workshops based on NFS and Hadoop storage platforms using both Teradata's private cloud and Amazon Web Services.Managed and executed the development of the RainStor technical training course into a module based "RainStor Academy" within the Teradata University.Supported pre/post-sales customer engagements delivering system architecture and cluster sizing (both storage and cluster size). Architected and built a variety of Hadoop environments (Cloudera and Hortonworks) for sandbox use and for use supporting customer environments and a cluster of VMware ESX servers managed by vCenter and back-ending to an iSCSI SAN for storage.

Clients include Invensys Rail, QinetiQ and Dell as well as several SME's.In 2002 three directors of 3Track co-founded a new company, Clearpace Software Ltd, that was to become RainStor. 3Track remained operational providing support to existing clients until finally wound-up in 2007.

From 1994 my role was that of Project Manager specialising in the development of high reliability, business and safety critical systems. This included included Project Management, Business Development, Systems Engineering, Requirements Capture and also for the company as a whole IT infrastructure capacity and planing.Clients included Invensys Rail, AGIE, Studer Revox, De La Rue and DERA.Between 1999 and 2001 I grew the contract with Invensys Rail from a team of 3 and an annual value of £240,000 to two teams totalling 12 staff and an annual value of £1,300,000.The largest project for Invensys Rail I project managed the design, development (hardware and software) and physical manufacture of a railway interlocking circuit board that controls the speed at which London Underground trains travel. These cards are still in use today. This involved a considerable number of production steps, a large number of which I negotiated and managed the sub-contract of, particularly specialised tasks associated with the physical hardware manufacture.
