At AMETEK, I was a CNC operator of two Citizen L-5 Swiss-style lathes and their respective IEMCA bar feeders. The parts that I make are mainly used in precision linear motion applications, including MRI machines and the da Vinci Surgical System. My duties include setting up jobs, checking and inspecting parts that I make to their prints using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and various gauges. I make the necessary adjustments and offsets, as well as G-code programming changes, to produce good parts consistently. I have worked with 303, 304, 316 stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and acetal stock ranging from .1" to .8" in diameter.

I worked in a wood shop, making gymnastic equipment. Mainly rock climbing wall panels from plywood, operating a Shopbot to cut holes for handholds.

I was a machinist in a job shop. Work was a little different every day, and depended on the nature of the jobs coming in. We worked mostly with aluminum and steel, but occasionally other materials, e.g. acetal, brass

Worked in a shop, assembled and was involved in the production of various merchandise and home decor products made from sea stones, granate, glass, and stainless steel. The bulk of my duties involved using diamond drill bits and drill press maintenance. I started work at Sea Stones when it was a relatively young company, and therefore was instrumental in developing and recording production techniques and best practices for many of the products they still make.
