As a librarian, my role is to connect people with the information and skills that they need to be successful and fully enjoy life. I focus on three core areas: traditional reference service, library and technology instruction, and enhancing library programs and services with appropriate emerging technologies.I have developed a broad range of skills from my work experience in libraries and other nonprofit organizations, from small branch libraries to large research institutions. Communication skills are critical in working with patrons to provide the best service possible; co-worker evaluations have noted that "[he] has a great service-oriented attitude, handling even our more difficult patrons with tact and grace." I honed my research skills providing virtual and in person reference service across all fields in a diverse university environment that included students, faculty, and the public.
