As a passionate education professional with over 18 years of experience, I have spent my career dedicated to fostering the growth and development of both students and educators. My background includes serving as a Secondary Social Studies teacher and Social Studies Department Coordinator at Elk Island Public Schools, where I promoted inquiry-based learning, technology integration, and game-based learning. In my current role as an Education Technology Consultant, I support the professional development and technology needs for almost 2000 teachers, administrators, and support staff in areas such as effective technology integration, digital literacy, and computational thinking.I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and School Improvement from the University of Alberta. My research focused on technology integration and equity, as well as LGBTQ+ experiences in faith-based schools.My expertise spans Office 365, Google Suite for Education, PowerSchool, PowerTeacher Pro, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and D2L Brightspace. As a member of the Alberta Teachers Association, ETCATA, and ATLE, I am committed to staying current with the latest developments in my field.My long-term career goals involve exploring the role of artificial intelligence in education, helping teachers navigate the ethical implications of AI, and ensuring AI implementation benefits marginalized students while maintaining their privacy.
