The APC was an initiative created by the Automotive Council and its members, and is a shining example of how collaborative working can stimulate innovation, development and success. I have joined, on secondment, a dynamic cross sectorial project team who are establishing the new Transport Systems Catapult. The Catapults goal is to be an integral player in the development of new Innovative Integrated Transport Solutions, which will allow seamless transition across a range of different modes of transport and provides users (that's all of us) with travel options that best suit our needs and preferences.Managing the development of a number of initiatives, including working with customers, project creation, academic engagement, Intelligent Mobility and development of frameworks and processes for the recently announced Automotive Council Advanced Propulsion Centre.

Secondment to Thailand, to establish a new manufacturing operation. - First phase of the assignment focused on establishing the facility, which included land selection, CAPEX specification and purchase, recruitment and development of local staff and regional engineering support to customers.- Second phase focused on active hands on management of the validation of customer products, working with customers to confirm acceptance and programme manage the start of volume supply, development of business systems and quality certification, leading both commercial and technical management of all customers and the development of new business.
