Ethics, Compliance, Internal AuditAssessments ManagerI supervise a team of associates, senior associates, and contractors in the US, South America, and Asia to conduct full-scope personal independence audits of firm partners and staff. Additionally, I am responsible for critical evaluation of policy exceptions and determination of appropriate sanctions. I manage team assignments and workflow to ensure completion of a constantly increasing number of audits, assist with hiring of new staff as necessary. Recently I've worked to ensure the seamless transition of the Independence Compliance team to a new office location in Tampa, FL. I also managed an ad-hoc team to complete a data analysis project to enter in Independence Checkpoint all loan information provided by recent auditees related to updated SEC regulations. I am the assessments team liaison for all of our service delivery centers and am also responsible for guiding the implementation of our new Salesforce based auditing system across all teams.

Ethics, Compliance, Internal AuditPre-hire Clearance/Direct Partner Admissions/Chain of Command (CoC) Clearances Lead ManagerI supervised a team of ten US-based and twenty Asia-based associates and senior associates to conduct compliance reviews of all new joiners to PwC, including direct entry partners, as well as clearances for PwC’s CoC restriction designation within the Firm. I was responsible for the completion of a yearly volume of 20,000+ clearances and reviews. This process required that I work closely with several internal departments to ensure that incoming new joiners and CoC entrants were free from any financial conflicts, as dictated by both SEC and firm regulations. I interacted frequently with senior-level stakeholders to maximize the time they were able to devote to the clearance process. I used my project management expertise to optimize these processes, resulting in significant reductions in processing time, and have worked with PwC IT to create automated database tools to complete the process more quickly and accurately. I regularly utilized PwC’s Global Delivery Model to offshore segments of each process to realize time and cost savings.Partner Clearance Leader, Booz & Co. and PRTM AcquisitionsI recruited and led a team of 50 internal and temporary resources in the US, Europe and Asia to complete the partner-independence aspects of the PwC acquisition of both Booz & Co. and PRTM. This team reviewed the financial statements of over 100 senior personnel within PRTM and 300 partners within Booz & Co. who were to join PwC as partners within the expedited timeline dictated by the acquisition. I worked directly with C-suite level individuals at both target firms to complete their transitions to PwC. As part of the process, I coordinated strategy and reported results directly to senior partner leadership at PwC throughout both acquisitions.

As a Manager within the Federal Practice of PwC, I performed several internal duties in addition to my project work. I managed billing and collections for several accounts and was personally responsible for revenue of approximately $1M. I was also responsible for business development efforts, and managed proposal efforts and delivered oral presentations for several successful bids. I developed and executed successful internal firm learning and education courses and internal reports.

Department of Defense, Task Force for Business and Stability Operations – AFGHANISTAN/PAKISTAN (AF/PAK)Afghanistan Ministry of Minerals and Industry (MoM) Tendering and Capacity Team LeadI deployed periodically to Kabul, Afghanistan to manage a team working closely with Ministerial-level officials to transfer knowledge and provide advisory services. Under my direction, the team conducted market research to prepare MoM for upcoming hydrocarbon and minerals tenders, as well as to streamline and update its processes. I oversaw performance management efforts for 150 current mining contracts and designed a framework for future monitoring. My team created country-wide consolidated minerals/infrastructure maps that were instrumental in influencing investment decisions of major multinationals looking to bid on tenders. I coordinated the efforts of the multiple donor agencies supporting the Ministry and worked closely with MoM staff to build functional business capacity.

DoD, TFBSO – IRAQNIC/One-Stop-Shop (OSS) Sub-Task Team LeadI deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, for six months to support the Iraqi National Investment Commission (NIC) on behalf of TFBSO. In this effort I managed a team that collaborated with Iraqi counterparts to write, edit, and publish professional marketing materials, including the Investment Guide and the Investment Overview of Iraq, for distribution at international conferences. I maintained productive working relationships with Ministerial-level Iraqi officials as well as operational staff. My team conducted a process analysis of the Iraqi business licensing office, known as the "One-Stop-Shop" (OSS) in order to perform workflow optimization. The results of this analysis were used to streamline and reorganize the OSS, in collaboration with NIC leadership. In addition to the marketing materials noted above, I created new internationally-focused versions of Investment License Application and other supporting documentation for use by the OSS.While at the NIC, I initiated a donor community coordination process to reduce work overlap at the NIC and established linkages to enhance cooperation between NIC officials and other Iraqi ministries involved with foreign investment, to shorten the investment licensing process. I traveled to Amman, Jordan, to perform a comparative analysis of the Jordanian Investment Board in order to generate a template for future progress in the OSS, based on a successful regional competitor agency. I utilized existing DoD contracting databases to construct the Iraqi Partner Company Database, which provides interested investors with qualified local partners in order to jump-start investment projects.My efforts also included supporting senior level Iraqi officials with the preparation of bid package materials, bid organization strategy, evaluation of bidders, and other foreign direct investment-related tasks.

Department of State, IT Consolidation (ITC) ProjectProject Budget Management Officer; Inventory Management Implementation Team LeadI conducted budget analysis for the ITC Director to create projections and project budget estimation deliverables. I maintained and updated the project’s performance metrics via the DoS Earned Value Management (EVM) tool, eCPIC, and was responsible for drafting the ITC OMB 300 response. My other accomplishments included reconstructing the financial history of the project, which had gone mostly undocumented by the previous support contractor, from available records for an evaluation conducted by the Office of the Inspector General. The evaluation found the project to be financially sound with no major defects. As the Inventory Management Implementation Team lead, I was responsible for coordinating the development of an agency-wide inventory tracking plan. This plan streamlined DoS procedures and introduced up to date technology, such as RFID, to the inventory management process. I also created and processed contract modifications and invoices and provided analysis support for IT Consolidation cost modeling efforts.

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)Client-site Team Lead; Briefing Officer for Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) Office DirectorI managed teams providing Science and Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) support to DARPA’s Microsystems Technology Office. I prepared briefings for delivery to senior DoD and U.S. Government visitors, including the Deputy Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Navy, and Congressional Staff. I interfaced with Agency Director SES-level leadership while leading efforts for MTO on DARPA-wide events, briefings and projects. This included coordinating programmatic oversight for MTO, including tracking funds allocated, obligated, and expended and managing scheduling for more than 60 programs. I led project teams for multiple conferences, including the 2007 MTO Technology Symposium and DARPATech 2007. These projects required managing large teams as well as coordinating the participation of 30 invited speakers and multiple service vendors. I created an automated process to streamline the submittal and evaluation process of responses to the office-wide Broad Agency Announcement. Additionally, I was responsible for updating the office website and creating on-line publications.

As a paralegal in the construction group, I assisted multiple attorneys with trial preparation, performed research, and managed large document populations for individual cases. I was tasked by a senior partner to summarize cases for publication in the Construction Law Report. Further, I assisted clients in obtaining Virginia Contractors’ and Business Licenses and scheduled depositions.

I researched chains of title to prepare full 50-year title reports, specializing in mortgage foreclosure and title insurance, utilizing the computerized legal record systems in multiple county record offices.

I performed legal research and other analytical functions, served subpoenas and made regional document filings as needed.
