Position provides strategic direction and oversite in the development and redevelopment of urbanand suburban areas in Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County. Responsible for managing,supervising and overseeing the activities and operations of the Economic Development Departmentas a direct report to the County Administrator’s Office. Duties include: analyzing economic data and strategically utilizinglocal and state tools to promote the new growth and/or expansion of business and housing within the County; working directlywith the Wyandotte Economic Development Council in marketing, attracting, and structuring development agreements for newor expanding business growth. Analyzing the use of development incentives to advise the County Administrator and electedbody in setting the best policy for our community will be key to the future strategy for development, along with the ability todemonstrate extensive judgement and initiative in the discussion of incentives with potential developers. The department alsoincludes the County Landbank office which is responsible for the strategic acquisition of property, including residential and commercialbuildings, and advancing these properties back into productive use for the community. Position regularly reports andpresents before the governing body in public meetings and will also present development updates to community groups and otherelected organizations in the County.

Served as one of seven lead directors in the bid to host the 2016 Republican National Convention in Kansas City. The efforts brought national attention to KC, and resulted in great success as KC made it to the final three cities. Worked directly with the Republican National Committee to bid, pitch and host Site Selection Committee.
