Business Development and executive management role. Deeply involved in development of CML as a high-volume technology provider to mobile phone cameras. Responsible for customer relationships, requirements capture and product definition. Built ecosystem of semiconductors, electronics, camera module makers and actuator manufacturing partners to support design wins and enable transfer to mass production. Complete ownership of major handset account and directly responsible for licensing deal with same.

Self-employed consultant providing consulting services and professional mentoring to UK based start-up and high technology companies. Key clients included Nanotecture (Southampton Science Park) and Cambridge Mechatronics.

Responsible for transferring CAP-XX’s existing technology from medical and industrial use to high volume consumer markets, especially mobile phones.Evangelised and promoted supercapacitor based solutions across the handset industry. Built supporting ecosystem from ground up with key technology partners (Ti, ADI, OnSemi, Maxim, Lumileds, Seoul Semi, etc) to develop complete solutions based on CAP-XX technology. Budget and P&L responsibility. Delivered the foundations of strong revenue growth via a series of design wins and customer projects resulting in the licensing of the technology to Murata (TYO: 6981) in 2008.

Initially responsible for sales of Sony CCD image sensor products in the European markets, and moved on to head the marketing of CMOS image sensors and camera modules for European mobile phone opportunities. Spent 30 months based in Copenhagen managing customer development projects. European lead on camera module development for the Sony K750i (the first mainstream handset incorporating an autofocus camera) and many subsequent camera phones (50M+ units total shipments). Member of "Technology Steering Committee". Budget and P&L responsibility.

Became part of STM as they acquired VVL in 1998, the moved to a field sales role mainly supporting what was then a thriving subcontract manufacturing base in Scotland. In order to maximise sales revenues worked very closely with the end customer design teams and was a member of the Ericsson focus group. During the period grew sales revenue by 50%.

Classic FAE role. Involved in pre and post sales support of customers using the VVL range of integrated CMOS sensors and ISP chips. Extensive travel in Europe, including support of the very first mobile phone customers integrating camera functionality. Supported the management team in market analysis and product roadmap development.
