Generating funds for programming through identifying and drafting grant proposals, coordinating development of interpretive programs and special events. Networking with regional universities to gain interns, developing and implementing a marketing plan, establishing and directing site mission and goals. Supervision of three permanent staff positions, overall preservation and maintenance of the site, purchasing needed equipment and supplies and conducting tours and interpretive demonstrations as part of visitor services. Giving general on-site and off-site presentations as requested, conducting appropriate artifact management and care techniques, researching topics for specific projects and coordinating media, marketing and public relations to promote the site. Completing reports and submitting to appropriate staff. Oversite of the overall budget of the site, work with local historical groups, convention and visitor bureaus and with the site affinity groups to promote and raise awareness of the site

The Historic Interpreter III acts as the site's assistant manager. This position's main job duties include visitor engagement, programming support, event oversight and Visitor Services supervision. The Interpreter III oversees, schedules and coordinates site part time employees, interns, and volunteers. Oversees financial activities, including gift shop sales and reporting, tracking donations and processing rental revenues. Develops, implements, and coordinates special events. Conducts tours and programs to visitors, school groups, and other visiting groups. Gives general on-site and off-site presentations, provides living history demonstrations, conducts appropriate artifact management and care techniques, conducts research, performs clerical and financial duties and operate gift shop, greet visitors, and help with site maintenance and cleaning.
