Project managed 3 major releases of the IBM entry level Storage array device including the first release supporting AIX and Linux operating systems. Worked with the team to set the feature list and quality level that would be delivered to IBM from the OEM of the Storage Array. Developed the test procedures and project documentation used by the Test team to validate the Storage Product. Unified the 2 remote Test Teams located at different sites across the country. Coordinated with Development, Test, Manufacturing and Sales teams around the world. Worked with the Customer One-off Test Team to make their processes efficient and ISO compliant. Created reports for management that showed how many test projects were completed in a set period of time, how long each project took and what resources were used on each project.

Managed a team of 13 Software developers working on the SAN Filesystem (SAN.FS) project and a team of 5 lab technicians supporting the development and testing of SAN.FS. Project managed the schedules and deliverables for the SAN.FS projects and made sure all team members completed their commitments on time and to specification. Conducted yearly reviews and helped each team member create an career plans. Designed and built the largest lab at the Portland site to support the development and testing of SAN.FS. The lab team supported over 300 local and remote tester and developers; over a 10 PB of storage; and well over 1000 Unix and Windows servers. Managed a capital budget of $2M and expense budget of $500K a year. Reconciled with the company security team to make the lab and development environment security compliant. Functioned as Operations Manager for the Storage site executive. Collaborated with the local colleges to bring in Computer Science students for a 2 semester internships. IBM hired 95% of these interns and all of them are still working for IBM. Teamed up with a local high school education program to offer and facilitate: summer internship; summer seminar for girls interested in high tech jobs; and coordinated teams of engineers to go to local grade schools to give presentation on working in high tech.

Managed a team of software developers working on the XPS Database. Teamed with the Software architects to identify additional features for the new releases of the XPS database. IBM purchased Informix in June 2001.

Administered the daily activities of Lawson HR/payroll system. Planned, executed and validated the upgrade of the Lawson system software and hardware (Oracle 8I and AIX) to the latest version. This upgrade shortened the payroll run from 5 days to 2 days.Modernized the Regence BCBSO IVR/VRU telephony technology. Wrote RFP and evaluation booklets and processes to select a new IVR system. Partnered with BCBSO management to get the needed funding and personnel for the IVR projects. Coordinated and educated various groups in BCBSO about IVR/CTI/Telephony systems. Supported the current IVR application and made changes to keep one step ahead of our customers. Developed an Intranet Web site to complement the HR IVR application. These pages required CGI programs in C++ to access data from a three tiered Client-Server Database system developed by IBM. Functioned as the Oracle Database expert to help with new database design related to the member services group.

Participated in self-managed work teams consisting of customers, engineers, and sales personnel to develop interactive voice response systems. Developed custom IVR applications using an AT&T conversant platform. Installed and supported customized IVR applications at customer sites. Coordinated with OEMs to integrate their products and those of Interactive Northwest to create an application that could be easily marketed. Led the development of a number of IVR and database applications. Designed and programmed a mailbox system that could be integrated into number of different applications including call-coverage, personal ad, Catalog ordering and credit card application. Developed a client-server application over TCP/IP; API Libraries; in-band signaling applications.
