Growing up on the beautiful island of Maui, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by the melting pot of all different types of people. Hawaii, the aloha state, was definitely a great place for me to learn the meaning of "aloha". I learned how to treat others with compassion and love, even when meeting someone for the very first time. Moving to Los Angeles was huge culture shock. I never realized how big the world was. UCLA was a great place to spend my undergrad as its "true bruin values" taught me about integrity, excellence, accountability, respect and service. With that, I've learned much more such as my love for people, my passion towards dentistry, my desire to help the under-privileged, and most importantly to pursue my dreams and passions as long as I knew I wanted to. I entered UCLA as a Chemistry major, but after realizing that I missed Biology too much, I switched to Biochemistry and also decided to minor in Korean. Right now I am enjoying my post-grad life as a Dental Assistant, getting to interact with patients on a daily basis. My job as a Dental Assistant allows me to really see how life would be as a Dentist, and I am happy to say that I look forward to the new day, everyday. I love to play video games on my free time (I learn better hand-eye coordination), invent new recipes, go on foodventures, enjoy concerts, and much more!
