 SIS689: Foreign Policy, Theories of Decisionmaking 01/2022-05/2022Designed and taught a graduate course that examines theories about how states formulate foreign policy. The various theoretical approaches are applied to historical cases of international crises and intelligence failures, drawn primarily but not exclusively from American foreign policy.  SISU210: Peace, Global Security, Conflict Resolution Gateway 09/2021- 05/2023Designed and taught an undergraduate course that studies theories of war, peace, and conflict resolution; identifies different sources and types of conflicts from the interstate level down to the individual; critically analyzes the definitions of peace and various methods used to achieve peace.  SISU212: China, Japan & US 01/2020 -05/2021Designed and taught an undergraduate course that looks at Chinese and Japanese domestic political and social developments from a socio-historical perspective; identifies how historically grounded Chinese and Japanese national interests and foreign policy behaviors vis-à-vis the United States have shaped international relations in East Asia from the modern era to the present. SISU103: Diplomacy and Dictators: US Foreign Policy in an Uncertain World 07/2019-07/2021Taught a 3-week hybrid (online and in-class) summer course for students participating in American University’s Community of Scholars Program, which provides advanced high school students opportunities to learn about the US foreign policy institutions and the decision-making process.

Taught weekly discussion sections of the foundational course that introduces undergraduates to the study of world politics. Upon being appointed head TA for the fall 2018 semester, I also coordinated administrative tasks, helped insure continuity among sections, and was a resource for troubleshooting problems among the other Teaching Assistants.
