Leading a team of software engineers on the AWS WAF team (Anti-DDoS, Web Application Firewall).At AWS WAF, we get to solve some of the hardest software engineering problems including building highly available distributed micro-services, global scaling across both AWS Regions and CloudFront edge locations, and processing millions of requests with single digit millisecond latency that allow customers to propagate changes worldwide in minutes in order to respond to active attacks in real-time.

Created and led an engineering team which owned 3P Search Engine Optimization for Prime Video whose mission was to help customers find video content they love no matter where they start their search. Delivered projects which eliminated duplicate search result listings, improved ranking by clarifying title metadata and distinguishing from physical DVDs, and allowed customers to search for and browse content by actor via a new Actor Detail Page. Additionally, I participated in a tiger team to deliver Prime Video Watch Parties as a rapid response to the stay-at-home orders caused by Covid-19.

Created and led an engineering team focused on growth and customer acquisition for Amazon Music via Alexa. Within the first year we delivered voice signup and upsell functionality for five international launches, seven successful growth funnel optimization and expansion experiments, a framework for A/B testing of Alexa messaging, and a frictionless preview program for new Echo owners.

Analyzed service architecture and previous outage information to identify areas where the ad platform is at risk for future service interruptions and customer impact, then worked with engineering and operations teams to design, track, and implement preventative measures.

Acted as service outage first responder for a large, globally available ad platform. Performed incident triage and investigation before coordinating with responsible engineering and operations teams for repair. Worked with remote office from externally acquired company to onboard them to our incident management process.
