During the life of the A14 project we have collected more data than ever before on a major infrastructure scheme; with this role I am focusing on stabilising these data flows and moving to a server-less environment using Microsoft Azure services, which includes tuning the data flows to maximise performance but maintain the granularity of data required. We are also leveraging our data to explore Machine Learning ideas, working with Data Scientists to explore the future.My role includes: - Azure: Data Factory, Logic Apps, SQL Server, Data Lake Analytics, Key Vault, and Custom Function Apps- Technical Languages: U-SQL, C#, DAX, (Basic Phyton)- Power BI data models- API integration flows- Monitoring by Exception- Machine Learning ConceptsAlongside the technical element of this, I am also championing our approach across the industry with various presentations and knowledge share sessions.

The A14 Improvement Scheme is a Major Construction Joint Venture working on behalf of highways england. Budget in excess of £1bn, with 6 Major Joint Venture Partners (Balfour Beatty, Costain, Skanska, Atikns, CH2M)My role has included:- Creation of Data Strategy, including design for Data Warehouse (Azure hosted SQL server)- Use of Microsoft Power BI for dashboards- Integration of multiple data sources for richer dashboards- Owner of key metadata working cross systems- Advanced DAX with Power BI- Advanced Excel (Macros linked to data warehouse)- Setup and configuration of SharePoint (Online)- Design and build of new online systems (eg, new Material Requisition System)- Integration of Planning/Commerical/Finance systems for integrated Earned Value Reporting (in progress)

I joined a business critical internal team delivering new computers to approx. 4,000 business users in over 150 locations. Initially stood in as Interim Project Manager for the South, liaising with local coordinators, ensuring delivery and install days were correctly communicated and understood; and providing an escalation point for any local issues.As Data Analyst I held responsibility for all CSUK user and machine data, which provided the backbone to the programme. The data changed daily and was collected using a number of different sources (eg, Oracle, Various HR systems, Active Directory, Exchange, Custom Databases) and stored centrally on AppTracker.Using tools such as custom Excel macros and Microsoft SQL Server, I was able to react to data changes and keep the delivery team informed; I also developed a specific process for controlling updates to data within AppTracker and created new fields for control purposes.The programme was under a tight time pressures and I was able to react quickly to reports requests from senior management, which included creating visual reports using Visio.

For this role I provided a varied consultative service to all levels of the business, primarily focused on the capability of SharePoint (MOSS 2010) and the different options available to suit the needs of the business.Highlights include - Business Analysis: Creating detailed requirement specifications for technical teams, including accompanying wireframe models. Some of the wireframes proved to be such a useful visualisation of the requirements they were used in most meetings, and in senior presentations.- Project Management: Particularly a successful implementation of a bespoke Meeting Room booking solution.- System Architecture: Collaboratively designed and developed the taxonomy model that the Business Management System uses to define search and navigation.- Data analysis: Used various techniques to analyse data sources for the business, tools vary from Excel lookups, to MSSQL queries for very large data sets.- Other highlights include: Workshop facilitation, Training, 3rd Party engagement, Development (SPServices/JQuery), Complex Configuration (SharePoint Designer), (FAST) Search optimisation, Technical reference documentation.

- A short contract working within a high pressured environment to tight deadlines (9 days). - Provided architectural documentation around a Custom WebCenter portal application with links to E-Business Suite.- Produced 3 deliverables: System design, integration design and a build document. These documents incorporated detailed architectural diagrams and swim lane process flow charts.
