As an end fitting design engineer I was responsible for designing the end termination and connection interface of the flexible pipes that NOV Flexibles sells as its primary product. In this role I had to take ownership not only of the component design, but also discussions with clients, giving and receiving design inputs from other internal engineering departments, as well as work with buyers and drafters to create material and component orders. The role was in many ways a sort of limited scope project manager.Results:- Delivered engineering packages of high quality with great customer satisfaction- Solved various time sensitive problems to keep product production on schedule- Helped trained new employees with good feedback from those instructed and managersI was also made responsible for building the company’s knowledge base in regards to a specialized system delivered by a supplier. This was an exciting challenge that required me to assume a facilitator role where I arranged and executed meeting with the client and their respective suppliers on one side, and the supplier of the system on the other.Results:- Built knowledge base for product not previously known to company.- Organized and led meetings with many stakeholders including client, supplier, and client’s subcontractors.
