Retained to fast-track an overhaul of marketing and provide Exec team with business and organisational advice. Groundwater Dynamics have a unique system for delivering flood and standing water to depths of up to 12m below the surface, allowing for construction sites to deal with storm water on site. This is fast becoming an imperative for planning permission, with the Environment Agency increasingly hostile to water treatment works receiving anymore storm water. There are also substantial carbon savings from dealing with the water on site.

Renaissance is a non-trading entity that I set up to promote decarbonising solutions into the climate change debate. I continually look to agitate decarbonising on an international basis, where we can hold all countries to account by an assessment of their individual strategy to deal with carbon emissions.

The company is a honey business that promotes bee keeping to poor communities that surround Malawi's forests and National Parks. Setting up the company, securing all relevant Government licences, sorting out Malawi's supply chain of jars, labels etc., sourcing enough honey etc. was the toughest assignment I have ever been engaged in. The honey sells under the 'Darling' brand name. The business is currently moth-balled due to credit concerns over the retail sector in Malawi, who have a nasty habit of selling your products and paying for them when they feel like it!!!!

Working on commercial solar PV installs for farms, public buildings and warehousing units. Collaborating with Community Energy Groups on financial modelling for them to finance solar installations at schools. Developed the pricing model for deep discounted domestic solar installs based on two installs per day - this delivered £300,000 contract value.

Alternative investment asset raising that was pro-business; using collective investment funds to replicate corporate banking products e.g. factoring, export finance.

Working on development projects in biofuel, smallholder agriculture and trade finance that seek to encourage economic development of Malawi.

Co founded the business. cru was the marketing and distribution firm for the CF Arch cru Investment Fund range, covering private equity and private finance. Pioneered private market investing to the UK wealth management sector. Build over £400 million of assets until the 2008 credit crisis hit private finance hard. Grew headcount to 65 staff, turnover £5m+ and profit of £900,000.

I co-founded the business to look at the role of enterprise in poverty alleviation. The business secured two international awards in 2008: Best African SME from the Commonwealth Business Council; and Best African Agri Business from the European Market Research Council. Oversaw development of all commercial farming, focusing on export crops (Birds Eye Chillies, paprika) and international agri-export activities (exported globally). Managed in country team of six Directors. Responsible for total workforce of over 1,500. Grew commercial farming to 2,700 hectares and a supporting outgrower scheme of 15,000 smallholder farmers.Grew international exports of chillies and paprika to Australia, Europe, Far East, South Africa and the US.Worked with Douglas Alexander, then UK Government Minister of International Development, at the World Economic Forum (Davos) promoting agri-enterprise as a poverty reduction mechanism.Raised £ 9 million of venture finance to develop the business. Grew sales revenues to £ 1.5 million. Sold business to Exagris in 2009.

I set up Sway as a full service marketing agency specialising in the asset management sector. This expanded into marketing consultancy for asset management in-house teams. Built an international events management business under the Senate Programme Brand, supported by over 30 of the UK asset management leading firms. Managed the then biggest ever launch of a UK fund management business, New Star for John Duffield. Build turnover to £2m+ and then sold the business to Incisive Media.

Co-opted to the Chair by Legal & General. Established investment peer groups for the life and pension fund sectors. Managed a Classification Board of leading Executives from the major UK life and pension firms. Handled discussions with the retail fund management industry who wanted to mirror the new ABI fund peer group classifications.

Appointed to Board in 1992 and raised £8bn retail funds by 1999. Established Legal & General as an investment provider to both direct offer and advisory markets. Responsible for new product development and enjoyed multiple successes in both structured and open-ended products. Created guaranteed income products from L&G's treasury, enabling L&G to capital raise below market rate and investors to enjoy enhanced returns relative to deposit rates - this won Investment Product and Overall Product of the Year from Money Marketing publication in 1998. Supported the development of the index fund range which has now become the key driver of their investment business, with over a £trillion of assets under management.
