I was lucky enough to lead the technical parts of a massive cross-device publishing platform, play with leading edge technology and meet extremely interesting people. I'm not lucky enough to be able to talk about it. Loads of beer. Like loads and loads.

Technical architecture, Business Development. Amazingly trusted to sell wisdom and sort out tech problems of some big multinationals. Actually managed to solve quite a few. Led a technical team of about 70 lovely people. And I had to buy their beer.

Drinking beer to ease the pain through the Dot Com bust.

These were the days when people built their own Content Management Systems, and Lord knows I built a few. They were pretty good. But you need to be insane to build your own CMS these days. Didn't need to pay for my own beer though - all free in the Dot Com Boom glory days.

C and Oracle programming on a Student Exchange gig. For a kid from Africa, I did pretty well. Lots of chess in Washington Square Park. Could afford a sensible amount of beer. And beer isn't cheap in New York.
