As Programme Manager, I was responsible for recruiting, training and supporting university students across the UK who volunteer as English or Maths tutors in secondary schools in their local area. Alumni Relations Assistant
Event management, alumni relations and student engagement responsibilities. My chief project was to plan, co-ordinate and deliver the 2013 Alumni Day, in collaboration with alumni engagement and events teams. My chief responsibilities included:- Acting as first point of contact for speakers, staff volunteers and attendees- Producing individual briefing documents for speakers, staff and senior officers- Composing mailings to be sent out to 20,000 students, and 70,000 alumni- Assisting with logging registrants on The Raiser's Edge database- Taking key decisions relating to speakers, running order, publicity, marketing etc.Achievements:- Attendance numbers increased from 188 in 2011 event, to 540 (up almost 200%)- Online registration numbers increased from 518 in 2011, to 1,601 (up by over 200%)- Over 90% of post-event survey respondents rated their overall experience 'Good' or higher (5% up on 2011)Outside the Alumni Day, I assisted with general enquiries relating to membership applications and alumni engagement, with a particular focus on engaging current students and recent alumni. In light of this, I was commissioned to draft a communications strategy for alumni engagement events by the Director of University Marketing, in recognition of the inventive means of promotion used in the run up to a proposed alumni networking event for finalists.
