As a retired headteacher & an educational consultant, and trained coach my work in Leadership Development & Governance gives me an opportunity to provide a variety of bespoke support across the school. The wearing of several hats gives me a unique insight into many areas of leadership.*MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR SCHOOLS-LeadershipI coach school leaders by providing a Listening Ear as often the starting point of support needs to be a conversation. Formal coaching can then be the next step if it is needed.I have helped design strategic planning documents which have been highly effective as well as provided advice on how to implement them. I am a Trustee of the council of the Chartered College of Teaching & a Fellow of CollectivEd-Governance My passion for getting effective governance into every school means I use my 13 years’ experience as a headteacher together with my extensive experience as a governor/trustee to good effect. I support governing bodies, chairs & HTs to get the best out of their relationship to provide the best for the children in their schools. I have experience across all phases, maintained & academy trusts. 100 Word Challenge - Turning Writers Into Authors

I run a FREE weekly, online creative writing challenge for young people under 16 years. On average 600+ Students from across the world take part.A prompt is provided and pupils have 100 words to produce a creative piece of writing. This is posted on their class blogs then linked to 100wc.net where a team of volunteers leave supportive comments. These comments have had a huge impact on the confidence and motivation of the young writers and teachers report great progress in writing. An average of 600 entries are posted each week from around the world. In the past year, there have been over 36,000+ entries producing 225,000+ interacting through blogs with children's writing.Shortlisted by NAACE for their Global Impact award 2013.***I am available for freelance training, authoring or consultancy.
