I run a FREE weekly, online creative writing challenge for young people under 16 years. On average 600+ Students from across the world take part.A prompt is provided and pupils have 100 words to produce a creative piece of writing. This is posted on their class blogs then linked to 100wc.net where a team of volunteers leave supportive comments. These comments have had a huge impact on the confidence and motivation of the young writers and teachers report great progress in writing. An average of 600 entries are posted each week from around the world. In the past year, there have been over 36,000+ entries producing 225,000+ interacting through blogs with children's writing.Shortlisted by NAACE for their Global Impact award 2013.***I am available for freelance training, authoring or consultancy. Having been chair of the local governing body at one of the Endeavour Academy Trust's school, I joined the Board of Trustees, working with the executive team overseeing the strategic progress of the Trust as they extend to add further schools. My role was chair of the HR committee which involves among the topics - staffing, induction, recruitment, performance management, I also held the school improvement portfolio

I was asked to support the governing body of this inner city, multi-ethnic school to establish systems and routines to enable them to provide effective governance to the school. I designed an action plan, closely linked to the School Development Plan and have trained governors in questioning techniques for visits to classrooms. The school is due to become an academy and join a MAT and I have been appointed vice chair in order to support this process.

I established an effective Management Committee for the school as it moved to become an alternative provider. By training governors in their roles and responsibilities the MC became an integral part of the strategic approach of the school. Ofsted judgement in Dec 2012 was good.

Location

I federated the governing bodies of two Special schools (sec & prim) to form Woodway federation.Both schools had been in Ofsted categories - the secondary school in severe special measures, with governance being cited as very poor.My role as an LA appointment was to organise governance and support senior leaders. Both schools were removed from categories.

A primary headteacher in 3 different schools, all in socially deprived areas of South Bristol. I amalgamated an infant and junior school to form a primary school, which allowed me the opportunity to work with parents many of whom came from workless homes.
