I am currently employed as a project manager for future modifications for three Single Role mine hunter vessels, as part of an International support programme. Delivery Manager (Bae Systems Secondment)
I was employed on an International Ship Building Project as a system delivery manager responsible to the project for the delivery of the integrated Bridge Systems. I was solely responsible for the management of trials and acceptance events of the navigation systems across three Off Shore Patrol Vessels. Systems Engineer ( Bae Systems Secondment)
Seconded to BAE Systems Surface Ships from Marine Electronic Systems working on an International Ship building project as a Ships Weapon Systems Engineer, responsible for managing the installation of the Integrated Bridge System. This involves liaising with production and external contractors to ensure that the technical aspects of the systems are completed and ready for Contractor Sea Trials and Acceptance.

Projects ranging from installation of Integrated Bridge Systems and Communication Systems, to assisting in the development of port security hardware. I contributed to design, installation, commissioning and trials of these systems for both commercial and defence platforms. This involved me working with customers such as the UK Ministry of Defence and specialist companies such as Griffon Hoverwork, Ledwood Technologies and Global Secure Systems.
Naval Applicator Mod Abbeywood
Responsible for ensuring Operational Capability of HF/VHF/UHF Communication systems to the Royal Naval Fleet. This hugely diverse role required flexibility and adaptability and incorporates liaising with equipment manufacturers and customers alike to ensure timely defect rectification, thereby maintaining Fleet Operational Capability. Acting as focal point for the section requiring a broad depth of knowledge and experience coupled with the ability to respond well under pressure whilst ensuring all set targets are achieved within given timescales. The position also involved active project management of a range of current programmes within the IPT. These include recently procured VHF/UHF radio systems, planning all aspects including roll out, installation, post installation trials, in service support and technical refresh/upgrade, and the development of trial schedules for the wider Royal Naval Fleet (including shore installations).
British Forces South Atlantic Joint Communications Unit (Falkland Islands)
Project Manager, responsible for a diverse portfolio of projects. These included installation and commissioning of updated communication systems for a variety of customers including radar sites, island wide IT system infrastructure and communications at the International Airport. Responsible for both a large Tri-Service Team and various groups of civilian contractor staff this project work included ensuring that all installation work complied with the current regulations whilst not impinging on the day to day operational effectiveness of the Island’s operational ability. As head of section for the military staff I was required to perform many and varied HR aspects in response to the requirements of the ever changing workforce.
External Communications Engineering Team Leader (Hms Southampton)
Responsible for the co-ordination of the repair and maintenance of all shipborne external communication systems. This required me to ensure equipments remain available at immediate notice, 24 hours a day, directing the maintenance team accordingly. Further to this, I was responsible to the head of department for co-ordination of the Weapons Engineering department (45+ personnel); this required me to manage co-ordination of training, manpower resource allocation, manpower welfare support and whole ship co-ordination.

I held a number of roles concerned with development of my engineering and leadership skills, with the responsibility I held being commensurate with my rank at the time. This time was split between training, technical roles onboard warships & commercial craft, and technical roles in shore units.
